The People Behind The Journeys
Safarini Encounters was founded by Oli Raison and Boris Maguire. Between us we’ve called Kenya home for more than twenty-five years. It is the country we most enjoy showing people.
Our deepest knowledge is of northern Kenya, where we’ve spent those years walking the country and earning the trust of the people who know it best. We take you into places most people never hear about.

Your journey starts with us
Your first conversation is with Oli or Boris, not a sales team or a booking form. We design every itinerary ourselves, and one of us is in Kenya while you travel, ready to change the plan when the country asks for it.
A decade of relationships in northern Kenya
More than ten years building genuine relationships with Samburu communities across northern Kenya’s most remote country. That means access to people and places no standard itinerary reaches. We work with wildlife guides who have decades in the bush, and trackers whose knowledge is instinctive, learned from years of following animals and reading this country.
Beyond the boundaries
Private conservancies where you can walk, go off-road and be out after dark. Kenya’s national parks allow none of it, which makes for a far more intimate way to see wildlife. Travel by camel into the Ndoto and Mathews ranges, where days pass without another traveller.
