Northern Kenya is the location of some of the most cutting-edge conservation experiments in Africa, and almost nobody outside the region knows how they work.

After time in Nairobi, you travel north to Lewa Conservancy, one of Kenya’s most successful conservation initiatives, where thriving populations of rhino and elephant are protected alongside the people who live and work here.

From Lewa, the journey continues into the landscapes of Samburu, where community conservancies are changing the way wildlife is protected across vast northern ecosystems. Here, conservation is tied directly to the people who have lived on this land for generations, with Samburu traditions and ways of life remaining part of the landscape.

Then south to the coast, where everything changes again. The final days are spent on the white sands of Diani, swimming in turquoise water, sailing by dhow and settling into the slower rhythm of the Indian Ocean.

From the northern frontier to the coast, the journey shows a different side of Kenya: not just its wildlife, but the people and ideas shaping its future.
